Been offered an XK150 engine and 4spd trans.
Trans is supposedly with OD.
Engine supposedly turns freely. However, from pics, I can see at least 2 head bolts are broken off, leading me to wonder what else might be wrong deeper inside.
Seller wants $2500.

Is this something I should jump on for my engine-less XK140?

This might be worth while. Do a lot of checking around. There may be other engines and transmissions on offer. The OD is a big plus.

I sold a 140 C engine that needed rebuilding for $10k, I say check it out closer.

I have a 3.8 liter block but it is seized, (the pistons are frozen in situ). from a MK-2 1963.

no cylinder head, but the timing chains are there.

If you want a rebuildable, this one is good. It is inside a rolling Crate, ready to ship.

That's not a bad price for both, and you would probably want to be going through them both thoroughly anyway before putting them into your 140. If they can be salvaged without total rebuilding then you would have saved about 10-15,000.
